Hotly anticipated, Social Media Week makes its return to the city this summer through SMWi, a new program that allows cities like Toronto to participate in Social Media Week through independently hosted events.

Hosted by Pinch Social, SMWi will take place the week of June 6th coinciding with Social Media Week around the globe, as events take place in Los Angeles, Mexico City, Bangalore and others.

SMWi Toronto 2016 will kick off with an exclusive Opening Night Party on Monday night (details of the hush-hush event to be provided to pass-holders the week prior), followed by three full, jam-packed days of keynote talks, special presentations, expert panels, master class workshops, networking sessions and special events.

Day one of SMWi Toronto will take place inside a 520 capacity theatre at TIFF Bell Lightbox where attendees will hear from some of the city’s top thought leaders, gurus, brands and influencers in social media. Among them will be special guest Councilor Norm Kelly whose unexpected success in social media has taken the city by storm in recent years. The man behind #WeTheNorm will sit down for a first-of-its kind interview on stage to talk about the power of social media and how he’s using it for social good.

In addition to the core programming, All Access Pass holders will have the opportunity to sign up for free tours and off-site events, getting a rare glimpse behind the scenes at some of the city’s most innovative downtown offices, such as Google, Twitter Canada, 500px and others. Pass-holders will also be able to participate in a photo-walk highlighting some of the most tweeted, instagrammed and snapped spots in the King West and Queen West neighbourhood.

Only a limited quantity of All Access Passes are available at the discounted “Early Bird” rate, and the sale ends May 6th so be sure to sign up soon to avoid disappointment.
